alright. I would like to start off with some key concepts that are important…
~A parabala will always be a function
~On some of our homework problems it asked about extrapolation and interpolation. estimate by extending or projecting known information. So graphically that means we went beyond our graph to find another input and output.
~interpolation basically means where you find an x and y value between two of your given points.
~your independent variable is always on the x-axis
~your dependent variable is always on the y-axis
Today in class we talked a bit about asymptote. Asymptote never quite reaches a certain value. For an exaample, it may approach two, but never touches two. Think of it as an imaginary boundary line. For the most part in honors pre-cal we will be caring a lot about vertical asymptotesrather than horizaontal asymptotes. vertical asymptotes are only by the origin and horizaontal are far away from the origin.
I copy and pasted a link from mathwords.com and it includes a graph of the relationship between the equation and the asymptote.
