Boolean!!

Today in class we learned about restricted domains and Boolean variables. We got togehter with our groups and worked on a worksheet with some problems. The problems delt with figuring out things such as: Kevin Vader weighs 200 pounds on the surface of the Earth. Earth’s radius is about 4000 miles. Writ the perticular equation for Kevin’s weight as a function of distance from the center when he is below the surface. Problems like these required us to use our knowledge of functions and and relationships. We created the equation f(d)=.05d, from here we can graph it and incorperate the Boolean variable. The Boolean variable is represented as x< or x> whatever the restrictions on the graph are. If the function for the Boolean variable works then you divide the graph by 1, and every thing stays the same. If it doesn’t work then you divide the graph by zero and nothing appears. These multiple step problems can be very tricky but are extremly useful when mastered.  The next scribe will be posted by Sawyer
