This summer has gone by so quickly! I have been so busy with work and cross country practices. It’s hard to believe that I’m already a junior, but I know this year will be just as exciting and crazy as last year.

Time Flies
He Had a Dream
I’m sure most people have seen the movie Inception this past summer and if you haven’t, you should go see it, it’s great. Everyone who has seen it has their own interpretation of the big ending in the movie; whether Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) was dreaming or not. If I had to pick a side on the this discussion I would go with that Cobb was dreaming the whole time. My evidence is that in the movie Cobb stated that he was in limbo, the fifth and deepest level of dreaming, with his wife Mal (Marion Cotillard) and showed the two older in Limbo walking together; Cobb stated that once you are in Limbo you never get out. Also, throughout the whole movie, no matter who was actually dreaming a dream, it still showed Cobb’s projections; meaning that Cobb was the ultimate dreamer in the entire movie. So based on these theories, what really happened is that Cobb and Mal got into Limbo and stayed there forever and that the whole movie with all of the other characters were a dream of Cobb’s. Even though I believe that this is the correct theory, I personally like that the movie is open for interpretation so that people can discuss it among themselves. Inception was a fantastic movie and will be in my top five favorite ‘deep thinking’ movies for a while.
High School Swim
The highschool swim season started a few weeks ago, and so far the 3 hour a day practices are actually quite rejuvenating! Hopefully things will stay that way once school starts.
The Other Guys
The movie The Other Guys is very funny and I would recommend seeing it if you haven’t.
Busy Busy Bee
The summer of 2010 has been extremely busy complete with tons of dancing, and fun activities. Since I am in the Midwest Connection Dance Company at Anita’s Dance Center, I have to be very commited to dance. Over the summer, I have spent a lot of my time at shows either at the zoo, muskegofest, festa italiana, and various nursing homes. When I didn’t have shows, I had to make up a dance to be shown at my audition into the company for next year. In this way, I spent a large amount of my summer dancing away. Throughout all of this time, I have gotten much closer to the girls that dance there with me. Even though I have a lot of fun with the dancers there, I tried hard to find a lot of time for my other friends as well. I ended up seeing them a lot over the summer doing various things such as pick up softball games, pool parties, bowling, brewer games, small get togethers, and even trips to culvers for concrete mixers. Overall, I would say that the summer of 2010 has been a great and busy one, and it really is too bad that it has to end so soon.
